Artist Statement:

''I try to bring the nostalgia of memories to life through art. What we remember from our experiences is not crisp and clear. Only certain elements are focused and some may be glamorized. This could be the colors of a sunset reflecting off a skyscraper, or the energy of a bicyclist racing down the street. My paintings are not created with the intention of realism or to look “picture perfect,” but to connect on a level of familiarity and excitement.” -Brunner

Process:

"When painting I never limit myself to one medium. I have used a wide variety of materials, it could be a pen, pencil, marker, spray paint, ink, or even rice. I include collage material with various textures. I use tea to stain my canvas. I find the place where I can use a material and then I move on. I am a painter, but I do not only use the brush." -Brunner
