Through his creative vision, using vibrant color, imaginative perspective, and a keen placement of line, Alexander Brunner takes the "ordinary" moment into the extraordinary realm. He uses a variety of mediums to create his vivid paintings, which captivate the eye and draw in the viewer.
Alexander Brunner is a native of Buffalo, NY. After becoming a prominent member of the Western and Central New York art community he began branching out. He has exhibited his artwork through galleries and festivals across the United States, and has been featured in numerous publications such as Nomad Magazine and ArtVoice. His success led him to NYC where he currently living in Manhattan. Alexander enjoys the new artistic forum. The city has given him a ''new approach'' to his artwork.
''I try to bring the nostalgia of memories to life through art. What we remember from our experiences is not crisp and clear. Only certain elements are focused and some may be glamorized. This could be the colors of a sunset reflecting off a skyscraper, or the energy of a bicyclist racing down the street. My paintings are not created with the intention of realism or to look “picture perfect,” but to connect on a level of familiarity and excitement.”
"When painting I never limit myself to one medium. I have used a wide variety of materials, it could be a pen, pencil, marker, spray paint, ink, or even rice. I include collage material with various textures. I use tea to stain my canvas. I find the place where I can use a material and then I move on. I am a painter, but I do not only use the brush."
