Margaret Raab

Artist Statement
As an Artist, Margaret uses traditional subject matter and media to share her ideas and generate a response from the viewer. She works
in various media, including charcoal and oils. However drawing is the foundation of all of her work. Charcoal allows her to produce images with realistic detail and dramatic light, and oil paint expands the experience by rendering the composition with richness and depth of color.
The focus of Margaret's work has been to examine our environment. Both the objects we bring into our lives and the nature that surrounds us. Her technique and use of light to create drama is inspired by the masters such as Correggio, Raphael, and Parmigianino.
